FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

MB Car Club Members access to Daimler Parts Portal
Walter Haenel

Hello,

A question for the members of any Mercedes Car Club:

Do you also have problems opening the "Aftersales system - previously know as EPC ?

Here [Western Australia] it is easy to log in, but then a screen comes up "Error, no tiles" and that's it.

It won't go any further and I am not able to look up part numbers, data cards etc.

I am asking the question in this forum because the local club management is not interested in parts portal and has no information.

Looking forward to any useful information.

Cheers from down under

Walter

Are you sure? I can't see such button anywhere and to be honest this is making the forum app almost unusable for me. Am I stupid or this function is buried really deep somewhere? See how my buttons looks like:

interesting, as my browser shows "Subscribe" right between the other two.

This forum software is poor and the board that manages it freely admits that to some degree. They switched to it a few years back when the old forum software was showing its age and needed more management than the volunteers were able and willing to give it. They went down a rabbit hole to switch to this software and discovered all sorts of problems big and small. I am no longer on the board, so I can't speak for them, but I speculate that they have not had the courage and fortitude to try that again with even less IT support than they had when the first transition happened.

One of the problems that was immediately apparent with this forum back on its day 1 was that the folks that maintained it for the club rigged it up so that folks that aren't dues paying members like me weren't able to post any content at all. After a period of time, that policy got adjusted and non-dues-paying folks were able to post.

Filip, are you a dues-paying member? If not, that would lead to some speculation about rights and privs here.

I'm paying as I wanted to post to new forum. I guess my forum profile was not created correctly. Does anybody know who to contact for help?
