Hello everyone, this is my first post on here.
I purchased last year a 1969 300SEL 6.3 #2480 from BAT. Car had bad rust in the rear of the rocker panels. Just finally finished all the repairs last week and had a fun time driving the car this past weekend until it started to have a terrible driveline vibration.
The flex disc is completely destroyed after driving the car hard.
Unfortunately I have learned the flex disc is NLA
Does anyone have one I could purchase or does a flex disc from another model fit ?
If I cannot find one I will make a metal flex disc on my CNC to replace the rubber one. Has anyone else tried that ?
I know the modified diesel benz guys that make big power run metal discs with no issues.
If I do make one and it drives good with it. I will make more to list on eBay.
How can Mercedes Benz not make this consumable part anymore for our iconic 6.3s ?
Also if I can post pictures on this forum I will post pictures of how I repaired the Rust on my 6.3. I made everything from scratch except the jacking points. Bought new ones.
Also before I drove my car I inspected everything on my Hoist at home and the flex disc looked perfect. Only lasted 2 days. must have been old.
Let me know what you think guys
