006503 008200 - Still available, looking for one or two?

There cars and then there are BABIES!

To update, I have had no word back from Tom on this matter yet. He said in his last e.mail that the problem with these parts is usually not M-B not being willing to remanufacture them but their finding someone who will do it. I'll keep you all posted.

Brian, I could take another off a parts car. Want one, I THINK I have one virgin parts car remaining in the barn. It should be there. So far everyone we have removed had failed under the ownership of the previous owner. What a joke. That fellow was driving a three speed. No wonder they gave zero respect to this noble model. 6.3 "Econ Theory an Chain of Ownership", pops up again.

I keep meaning to ask you, and I know I asked a while ago - could you get me the name (again[;)]) of the gentlem from CA we met last year driving the light blue 6.3? He had nice M100 license plate frames made and very much wans us to promote them - it was very nice.

Francis E. Abate Francis, that would be Bob Wilson located at 401 West Gibson Road, Woodland, Ca, 95695
Art, Larry keeps my extras if we think we can rebuild it. In this case, no, we tossed them and have for years. Why not save them? We were buying them new. Who would have thought that this part, one of the most critcal parts on a 6.3, would no longer be made. What I didn't realize was that we bought the world's supply. That thanks to Ron who posted the part number. Yes, I want ten. Everyone, EVERYONE should have two new examples at all times. If you have two 6.3s, you need four. Without this, you drive a three speed. LOL, but no joke. That's the whole deal, isn't it?

We are of topic but here is what the store has to offer.

M-100 Store Catalog

Shirts $35

Badges $25

Francis, I will look in the file for his name. You may recall, that car had been in the family since new. I believe his wife's brother had bought it new. Faded paint but all original. A great car. I'll send you his name.

Is there a place on the forum to view the items in the club inventory and the prices?

Jack English

Count me in for one now. Probably another when I know the price.

Incidently we are finally starting to get ahead of previous years balances in the club's treasury thanks to the higher due and the last two LODE FEST conventions being self-sufficient... [more on this soon] so the club can began considering how any dollars should be used for club store.

As treasurer I invite budget proposals for 2008 from the store committee/leaders for consideration by the board (and from other members for other purposes). Money doesn't go very far these days so it is likely to remain preferable to find firm advance commitments such as this water pump part, that can be rolled over to the Classic Center without any capital outlay by the club.

The club currently owns over $2,000 of M-100 clothing, badges, etc. that has previously mostly been displayed and sold at conventions. Maybe that can be among the tests of club store inventory management? In addition to the Internet a page or more in each LODE STAR might also get a quick nod from the board.

Of course, Justin and I will buy at least a couple each so that is 25. I'll persue it further with Tom.

Jim,
As far as I know, the 6.9 does not use this switch, do you have a 600 or 6.3 as well?
Art
2 for me (6.9)
2 for me please

Dan Smith,
Have you got one of your "failed" ones that you could send to Brian? Not one of the ones from Miller's in case it is the wrong one.

Let's keep the orders coming in and see if Tom Hanson can get them remanufactured while Brian has a look at it from his point of view.
Art
Are there some broken assemblies which I could disassemble?
I could make any part inside those or the body itself.
CAD model to a SLA machine for tooling.
Are the brass pieces worn?
I imagine that they just need cleaning,

Getting back to the computer from a nice trip to Baja.

I'll take two.
Art,
I would take about four of the switches to keep in my parts stock, thanks.......

gary ensor
Thank you Gary. So we need more orders so I can get back to Tom and give him some ammunition for his pressure on Germany.
Art
the switch for the 6.3 is part number 000 545 34 04 , the 6 cyl cars use part number 000 545 33 04. the difference is that they mount on opposite sides making their operation backwards from each other. if you mount a 6 cyl switch on the 6.3 engine, the throttle will barely open since the switch is designed to work in the opposite direction.
