Cleaning and Detailing

Gerrett, I suggest a NEW TOPIC and a NEW SECTION.
Recently Art in Oz and Eddie in Ireland posted photos of thousands of deceased bugs. While I am a card carrying member PETB, (People for the ethical treatment of bugs). You can make Donations to PETB, by calling, (800)-it's-unlisted. I see nothing wrong with finding easy ways to remove them. In my area, I even know where I will hit them. Prior to entering the kill zone, spray on a furniture polish onto your front end and bumper. Or just keep the polish on all summer and fall. When you wash it, spray on a degrease product such as Simple Green, while any degrease product will do, and they just about come off with a water hose.
Windscreens? If I know there will be no rain as it is here in the summer and fall, I spray on and wipe off a very quick wax detail product. This helps with bugs on the front wind screen. Rain X works all the time. Keep it and that furniture polish in your boot / trunk.
I have a trick for every part of a 6.3 so more will come. Cleaning the engines are the most important.

I'm all for a section to cover this topic. I have spent more than 30 years figuring out what works and what doesn't. The unfortunate thing is that I don't have a "it works" solution to every "it doesn't work" problem. Knowing what other folks are doing would be great!

This section could cover everything from bug removal to electro/electroless plating to leather dyeing. I would say it could include anything "cosmetic".

An easy way to get those flies of your windshield and your paint is:

put a wet newspaper on the paint (or window) and let it there for about half an hour. Keep it very wet. After removing the newspaper they come off much easier.

Second:
After WW II the americans GI's brought the Nylons/ladypanty's to europe. These nylons are nice tools for cleaning the flies from your window or the paint. Use much water.

Coat the leading edges of your car with a top quality furniture polish . It stops the bugs sticking and will not harm the paint.
We shouldn't be killing bugs because the decaying bug corpses create carbon emissions .
