I will also add that if your photo is hosted on another site, you can link the image from the original site to a posting using the [img] tags.
Example:
I have a picture of Dan Smith's lovely green 6.3 on my www.w108.org home page.
If I right click with the mouse on that image and go to properties, I will get the location of the image (URL).
I can then copy this to the posting in between the image tags to show in such a manor.
[ img] picture location (in this case http://www.w108.org/gallery/albums/w108/18_jpg_03.sized.jpg) [ /img] where [ /img] closes the tag.
Note that I have added a white space after the "[" this is so that the tag will appear instead of being treated as code. The space between the "[" and IMG will need to be removed for the browser to treat the tag as a special command.
Above is an example of an image that I have linked, if you use the quote button, you should see the correct syntax for the picture.
Why would I use this method instead of the attachment?
1) I won't be constraint by the size limitations
2) It will save space on the local server
3) I can add text inline (before and after the picture) if I want to use the picture to describe something.
If I failed to explain this well enough, please see here: http://www.htmlkit.com/minit/pages/imgtag1.html
