Regarding that last link to the black one.....at that price I'd expect it to be something more than a SWB. He's dreaming if he thinks he'll get that out of a SWB 600, especially one that has been destroyed by cutting holes in the door panels. These fellas you speak of should be excommunicated to Antarctica for life.

Vin is 100.012-12-001468 "customized / streched" SWB.

The mounted dataplate is FALSE , because imho "belonging" to Vin SWB 001549 .... (which was also in his hands and therefore must have none dataplate or also a false dataplate)

Mounted dataplate (see picture 60 from the 69 added) can NEVER fit with that Vin / datacard ..... and is false for that VIN .

Very disapointed :
Already three cars from/out his hands with false dataplates ....

Don't get it.

When somebody fits a V8 Ford motor in a 600 and put steelsprings on, everybody calls that a destroyed 600, but when someone else cuts roofs of to make pickups or fit a compressor c.q puts EFI in, then it suddenly is called a "high end" restoration .... ?????

I don't call this "restorations", but "creations" ....

Those dataplates have DEFENITLY a "meaning" , when you are able to read them ..... If you can't read them, then they have no value !!!

That dataplate suggest, that that particular car had factory airconditioning, but it has NOT and only a simple AFTERMARKET airco.
The original factory airconditioning has a ONE button operation ....

Whether you mount the original dataplate or NONE ....
You can't search for a dataplate in your stock of wrecked cars for an "alternativ" from an other buildingyear ....

And when you can't find the "original" , then imho a "high end" restorator should make a "reproduction" according the Original ...

I don't know the order the factory uses to assign numbers on the 2nd plate. Definitely it is a no-no and probably illegal to swap the plate with the vehicle's identification number. The second plate however, swapping that around is simply poor slight of hand, especially on a "high end" restoration.

To that car belongs a UNIQUE dataplate and NOT any dataplate from an other car .....

That is equal LIKE an UNIQUE Vin ....

You should neigther mount a Vin-plate from an other car

Possibly a question of when the paperwork was created for the factory to work from. These are hand made cars, so they would make their way through the factory at different rates.

In 1964 were 107 cars build. 99 SWB and 8 LWB
from these 99 SWB are known 7 RHD .....

So that means , that maximum 72 LHD SWB will be produced in that year.

BUT

On the dataplate is stated that that BODY is number 186 LHD from that year ????

The 8 in front of the bodynumber suggest, that that dataplate is from a 1968 (or 1973) car ....
