Luis,

I'm planning on sending my registration in via snail mail, and need to know how to make out the check for the fee. Should it be to Jack English, M-100 group meet, or what?

Thanks for the info...

Regards,
Jim

Wow --now I wonder --we wrote ours to: M-100 Group C/O Jack English -that is what we have done in the past.
Jack English
PLEASE, ALL: Make checks out to "International M-100 Group." I have had checks made out to me in the past and I simply endorse them over to the Group. Our bank has had no problem with that. Just, please, make out the check! Unless the board changes this, the "Early Bird" discount expires May 1.

Hello all!

I want to say, right away, it's not my fault! Well, maybe a little...

The Northwestern Star newsletter (Portland section MBCA) has a full page devoted to the M-100 meet in August, that more or less reads like the entry at the top of this thread. It has my byline, which is, to put it mildly, not correct.

I merely told the newsletter editor about the event in a casual e-mail, and he ran with it. The good news is, the group might get some additional sign-ups from the Oregon/Washington area. So Jack, if you get some inquiries that don't seem to make any sense, you'll know where they're coming from...

Looking forward to seeing all you folks there!

Best Regards,
Jim

Jim: I have received a few registrations from people whose names I didn't recognize. That's good.

Yes, good point about the hotel rooms Jack - book your room now[8D].

I hope all the members realize that 11 July is right around the corner and with all the work our hosts have planned for this 25th Anniversary Lodefest, it is going to be memorable! Whether you've been to a meet or not, you can count on walking away with more knowledge of your vehicle and more friends and resources than you might have imagined[:D]

If you have any questions, ask a board member as we will be happy to help!

002171 is getting sectional painting(roof and back half)as I write. Tomorrow morning the detailer will buff the remainder of the car. Tomorrow afternoon I will install the new headliner (thanks Jack!). Monday it will get the speedometer put back in and then the seats. Tuesday the glass goes back in. That leaves 7 days to finish the mechanicals & trim before the trip north. While 2171 is getting paint, I'm changing out coolant hoses on 3541 -no idle time and the clock keeps ticking.

Keep it up Michael. Im in your boat, except I only have to drive my cars around up here. I replaced air valves on two cars today and have been cleaning / doing little details on all the cars in preparation.

Luis

U must be dexterous with fortitude to complete two sets of valves in one day -one set wears me out.

Well, surprise: the clear coat paint of 30 years was starting to blister and shed so I took the car to my friend, Jerry, who painted the car in 1986 for me. Ummm... that's thirty years ago. I took it to his shop 3 weeks ago for the top. Now I learn that there is some issue getting new sunroof seals to finish the job. The paint shop is throwing up their hands Waiting.

Jack, the side seals are the same that are used for the door glass scrubbers -cut in length. Tom can't get the front & rear seals?

Did I say 002171 is white? --Ivory 670. We painted the back half/roof and now we have probably 3 different shades on the car. The paint we put on is definitely ivory and a closer look verifies that is the correct color -it matches the door jams perfectly --I was told the car was parchment of some sort --which is what it looked like --we buffed the existing paint --got a shine but different shades (Previous paint work) -Still a mountain of work to do before Portland.

What an amazing event! MUCH THANKS to Luis and Ashley for putting together a fantastic program full of adventure, fun, and the opportunity to meet some incredible people. LodeFest is a wonderful opportunity to meet members from all over the world, get to know them, make a whole lot of new friends, and finally get a chance to put faces to screen names. The wealth of information shared is beyond belief. The contacts and friendships made are priceless. There were some really unique and beautiful cars there as well.
John Olson gave several talks, each chock full of information and details most of us did not know. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be able to spend time with people I consider the legends of the M-100 group. You guys are the best!! The tech session was fascinating and even the sideshow of several "gurus" sorting out my steering, suspension, and other issues alone made the trip worthwhile. Thank you Hartmann Motors for the use of your lift, tools, and supplies. I am already looking forward to next year's meet-up and it will be even better going in a car that will be well sorted! If you are on the fence about attending one of these, get off that fence and do it! You won't regret it.

Kip, I could not agree with you more. Thanks to Ashley and Luis and to King Louis for work behind the scenes. Is it too early to talk about an M-100 Caravan to Rheinbeck, NY?

Only if you lead. I like traveling with you. We get there quickly - VERY quickly. Surely Jim H has contacts along the route between here and NY. I think we can expect Clayton and his 6.9 to join the caravan next year.
I'd also be keen on a meet in Grants Pass or SoCal in the meantime.

I think the last SoCal meeting was in 2006 at the Classic Center. Others correct me if I'm wrong. Grants Pass and Rogue River were discussed for another time; perhaps a member will offer. I don't know if Weasku Inn has enough rooms. There are other hotels in Grants Pass. Rogue River rafting in M-100s!!

A caravan to New York might be great fun. Advance planning and firm committments would be required. We could pick up members along the way, of course. I would love to help with the planning.

If I start now, it could happen --the only parts I don't have are the air bags & body seals. I have a painter that can toss paint on it -

I also felt at home with my new crew. That crazy son-ofa Kip has got me fired up on the NY adventure. I am replacing the injectors and re-testing my rad. next Tuesday. The surgery continues and NY here we come.

Absolutely fabulous event. Thanks to Luis , Ashley and especially King Louie who I'm sure did most of the planning and venue arrangements. Looking forward to next year in New York.

If you can, forward pictures to me for inclusion in an upcoming Star article.

Also, some of us steadfastly refuse to sign up for Facebook, so if there is another way to get photos...

Thanks!

Jim,

Several years ago Brian Glusovich set up a cloud account for depositing and retrieving photos. I will try and find the site.

Facebook...

Unfortunately, I am not on Facebook, nor will I ever be. I have some security issues that prevent me from doing that.

So, if there is any other way to get the photos pasted on Facebook, please let me know, and I'll pursue that. Thanks to all who are sharing pictures! Sorry to be such a techno-Luddite...

Jim

Ah! Thanks Paul. I had that link, but thought there were other, different, photos on Facebook. That clarifies things nicely.

If anybody else has photos, please forward them to me. Thanks very much!
