Francis, in my opinion a pressure bleeder is the best thing since sliced bread. It pressurizes the system and fills the resevoir at the same time so you just need to go to each corner and bleed until you get clean fluid or all the air out of the system. I have a motive which works great and is inexpensive.



I've read somewhere (probably on a Mercedes Benz diesel discussion group) that if you spend about a week or so of your time, you could save $20 buy making one out of a garden sprayer.

Since I did this the hard way yesterday on my 6.3 - running around to each wheel after pressing the brake pedal - wondering what suggested methods and tools are out there for ease of doing this job.

I just used a tube and tried my best to be sure no air backed up into the lines however, the front prooved to show this more than the rear. I suppose a home made tube with a 1-way check valve should work. In fact I believe I had something like this from NAPA before but it became brittle in the garage over time and I tossed it - called a "one man brake bleeder", or something like that.

Your experienced suggestions should help many of us!
