Has red oil cap sitting low on unit. Straight short neck.

Can't locate any dipstick (slotted hex screw)

What to do?

Oil change through the filler neck?

Amount ? 250 ml

Type ?

Workshop manual doesn't tell...

Any help would be appreciated.

Can't attach photo (via iPhone). Will try later. Size limit ?

Thanks

I will have another look tomorrow.

I was looking on top of the unit and not on the very rear.

Paul,
When I look at that thread from 2010, the two pictures in my posting don't appear, even though their addresses are there if I look at the posting to edit it. Can you see the pictures of the dipstick?

I see them both.

Thank you. There must be something wrong at my end. Here is another photo to assist your finding the dipstick.

Found it.

Rear left side and not right side as in you photo.

Slotted round head with two small pins. Perhaps the 1964 model is early and different.

And it is longer then expected. About +2 inches in total. will try and upload a photo later.

Art, I see often a small square with a cross inside.
There seems to be a problem with the webside for loading pictures.
So I click on the square with the cross with my right mousebutton en choose the option show picture. Then the picture appears ....

Hi Paul,
When I used your link from this thread, the text was there but no sign of the photos - yours or mine. No little black square with a cross, just a space. But by right clicking on the page in general and choosing reload, the pictures both miraculously appeared. I really don't understand websites!
Thanks,

Art,

it depends on which browser you use : Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome

I use IE and then those sign appears ....

I think it is caused , because the webside is loading to slow .....

Today I hade time to suck the old oil out of the Injection unit.

Used a vacuum brake bleeder with a smaller hose connected to the vacuum rubber fitting.

It took a bit of trial and error to get the smaller hose to go in correctly to get to the bottom of the unit.

It's easy enough to repeat a few times to get the dirt out.

Changed the plugs, checked fuel supply and the engine fired right up with nice throttle response and idle.

Thanks to all the dedicated guys here and the great information that can be found in the Forum !!!!

And the much smaller new starter turned the engine a lot faster then the old bigger unit.
