I need to make a small fender repair due to rust.I want to use original metal to get the thickness and composition correct.
Will the metal from a 1965 220SE door be accurate enough?

i would think so, most of the metal is 20 gauge from these cars

I have a donor 280 SE that I used for my fender/ rust repair. Is it a door piece you need?

I suspect that all benz fenders are created equal when it comes to sheet metal thickness. A door skin might also be the same basic thickness; not sure.
