Earthing (ground) points
Author Last Post

Hi Barry

!!! The earthing point of the claxon is imho the claxonring self on the steeringwheel ..... !!!

What is your Emailadress, so I can send you the diagram .... mine : vonschwartzenberg att ziggo.nl

Tell me more from your car as the Vin and colours ... for our registery ..

Mercedes started publishing current flow diagrams in the early 70s. I presume somebody finally realized that the wiring was just too complicated for simple questions like this.

If I remember correctly, my 280sel 4.5, a lesser cousin of the W100 has the ground wire in that loom come out under the dash and is bolted to metal for the dashboard. The idea being to have the ground wire be as short as is practical. I would expect the 600 to be done about the same way.

Yes I have the manual with the wiring diagrams and the extra diagram of the horns circuit, but it does not show where physically are the earthing points on the car. The brown earth wires disappear into the loom: where do they exit to earth???

Barry

What’s your problem ?

If you work on your own 600 I would recommend buying a workshop manual. There you have the diagram.

Does anyone have a diagram showing the locations of the electrical earthing points on the 1965 w100 swb please, or failing that, can anyone tell me where the earthing point is for the horns circuit?

Barry
